Chanky's

Classic theme

The design that started it all! To tell you the truth, this yellow design you're looking at was a template. I stole it off HTML Dog, back when I was a beginner. I read their tutorial, and couldn't understand a word of it, so I took the template they quickly made on their site that was used in a tutorial. I had added a whopping one thing to the template; I made the h1 background into an image, but otherwise, everything, even the logo, were not made by me. This design was up for a long while, since I didn't improve in CSS that much. I was trying more for HTML. Not a very good design, but I was just glad I finally had a website.

pojr simplicity theme

This theme was made from scratch from me. It's too bad it wasn't up too long, but I found it a lot better then the one I had before. I was not good with CSS at the time, but I managed to make that one. That was right around the time when I released the forums. During the existence of this skin, I had knew PHP, but very very poorly. I could barely make a single script with PHP.

Networks theme

This layout visually looked great. It probably looked like one of the best themes on the site all together. This template was stolen from another site, and I modified it a little by changing the logo, and the color of the tables. This layout was made right around when I developed the HTML coders, some very simple PHP scripts. I did have some good concepts though, like advertising, and making sure everything looked nice and neat. The Networks theme may have been a template, but it sure gave birth to new ideas. There is one thing it is not telling you about. Once you view the source, you will realize how poorly coded the site really was. It's funny, because I was proud of the Valid CSS sticker at the bottom of the pages. Some accomplishment! There were a good 5-10 lines of CSS. Everything else were simply tables. That's the thing: this theme doesn't register as an official one, since the tables did the design and not the actual style sheet. This was right around when I learned the basics of PHP, and also at the same time as the first PhpBB forums were up under/Forums/. This design was up too long.

Modified Networks theme

This design was much more darkened then the previous Networks theme. Still poorly coded, but much of the codes were fixed, and turned into CSS. The forums I had with it looked nothing like the site. At the time, I think I had them PhpBB forums, but I might have had MiniBB. I upgraded from PhpBB to MiniBB. This design was great in my opinion. This design was not up very long, and it would probably still be up today if it wasn't for the WD&P board at GameFAQs. I asked them to rate it, and got a pretty bad rating; but then again, they also rated the source. I feel that this theme should have stayed up a month longer, with code modifications.

pojrOrange theme

Like the pojr simplicity theme, this design was made from scratch by me. I used the same width from the Networks theme to make this one, otherwise, I thought everything else out. I had this theme up and running when I started the first HTML tutorial, and the theme was soon to meet it's death within a few months. Not too good of a design, but it was all right and simple. Probably the second worse design for pojr.org.

pojrBlue theme

A rare glimpse of the pojrBlue theme, which was a prototype of the pojrBloom theme. I wanted to include the navagation which was used for the pojr simplicity theme, since not everything went right with the navagation there. With a few tries, I managed to get everything the way I wanted it to. Why didn't I keep the navagation on the pojrBloom final version? Well, look at one of the only pictures that exists of it. It looks terrible. I can't believe I kept it for as long as I did. Then another problem with the theme, is that it's surroundings were not good. Not only the theme, but some of the things I tried to do with PHP never worked correctly. This theme was only up for about a few weeks.

pojrBloom theme

A step to the big leagues, design wise. I took the pojrOrange, and modified it to it's greatest. I changed the logo, made the tables all divs, changed the navagation completely.

pojrBloom 2.0 theme

An even better approach at perfection. Not only does this design look almost perfect, compared to pojrBloom 1.0, but this is the first stylesheet, ever on pojr.org that has both valid CSS, and valid HTML. I changed some of the functions in it, such as the width of the container div, and added in some shades that I made on MSPaint. i changed the bottom footer to make it look more professional, and not a simple picture stolen off of AIM.com, using tables to support it. This one is perfect. My next approach is to get rid of the doctype, and replace it with a strict one. Though this theme is no longer used for the site, this theme is available for free on the forums as a template.

ChankysOrange theme

An even better step to perfection. This skin is very similar to pojrBloom 2.0, with a header change and a few changes with the tables. This skin was in play when the forums first released back on July 1, 2008. It matches very nicely with the name change, and that was why I made the site more orange then before. I kind of went back to the old ways when it comes to color. This skin didn't have too many improvements, but it still looked great.

Nature theme

This theme is a milestone when it comes to this website. This theme has a different website width, which is big, since the width of pojr.org has been 650 pixels (very short) since the Networks theme. This theme goes even further from what the pojrBloom theme tried to be. this theme made the forums look absolutely nice, and this theme had fixed a lot of the problems that the other themes have created, like a crammed website, the width, the colors, and the overall content. This theme is notable for having a nice background with improved style. This theme is no longer available at the forums.
